PROTOCOL is pleased to announce the launch of Main Street Commissary, a specialty coffee experience located in the heart of Little India at 81 Rowell Road – right below where the agency offices are.

The new venture is a collaboration between the creative agency and Melbourne-inspired eatery Bearded Bella, the home of 2016 National Barista Champion Regina Tay. Bearded Bella was on board as a consultant to design the coffee menu and train the baristas.

Kelvin Kao, CEO of PROTOCOL said, “My first job in advertising was as an intern seated right across a coffee machine. It is fitting then that my work space right now is again in the proximity of yet another coffee machine. I suppose coffee makes good creative work.”

The coffee machine at Main Street Commissary is the state-of-the-art VA388 Black Eagle which is used in coffee competitions globally. Besides coffee, Main Street Commissary will be serving all-day breakfast, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, alongside a salad-bar.

Overseeing the cafe management and operations is Daphne Ling who also serves as Chief Operating Officer at PROTOCOL.

“Main Street Commissary is ultimately an unpretentious place for having a good time over good coffee. We’ve ditched the frills for a down-to-earth experience set in the heart of a culturally vibrant district, “ said Daphne.

There are certainly plans to expand its offerings beyond food and beverage.
The agency was previously behind project fifty-two and Chill Pills, and intends to introduce merchandise of the ilk in the very near future.
